Just Rambling... Because I Can

Well, it's been somewhat of a productive morning. So far, I have cooked breakfast, cleaned up the kitchen, patched a hole in the bathroom wall, taped off all the trim in prep to paint the bathroom later today, checked out the want ads and have now put my 5th load of clothes in the washer.

Now, it's almost 8:00 so I had better get myself into the tub as I have to go to the home improvement store, electronics store, produce place and I have a lunch meeting. I'm even gonna sneak a few minutes for me and hit the massage bed at the tan salon. How did I ever find time to do things and work??? If it wasn't for that pesky thing called money that is needed to pay my bills, I think I could definitely get used to this being at home thing. : )

Have a great day.

KGrams who is hoping to get all her errands run so that she can get the bathroom painted this afternoon.

I've got.. nothing, naddo, zilch, zippo

It's another gloomy Monday and I feel the same way. I have for weeks now, no energy, no desire to do anything. I'm just totally wiped out.

So, to keep ya from having to look at the same old post, I'll be nice and put some random pics out here of my little man. He is now 11 weeks old and up to 2.7 lbs.

7 weeks old

8 Weeks Old

Asleep in Daddy's arm. Can you say SPOILED?

During Hurricane Gustav - At least someone wasn't worried.

He did actually wake long enough to change positions. lol

Ok, that's all I've got for now. Have a great day!!!

It's one of those days....

I got up this morning and stated my normal routine of getting ready for work, laundry, cooking breakfast etc. Seemed like any other day. Then, I left my house.

I had to take a back way to work which is several miles out of the way, but it was quicker as they have set up a distribution site for food stamps the way I normally go and the traffic can be tied up for hours. No biggie, I got over that one.

On the way, I stopped to fill up my gas tank and the machine comes up with... would you like to purchase a car wash? Took one look at my car and thought yes, I definitely need one. When I finished pumping, pulled over to the car wash to see... Sorry, temporarily closed. Grrrrrrrrrrrr Why did the gas pump ask me if I want one and then proceed to take my $8 if the car wash isn't working???

I get to work and realize I forgot my lunch at home. It was a really yummy lunch - leftovers from last night. Grrrrr again.

As I'm early for work, I get out the paper that I picked up at the gas station to see what's happening this morning. It's Monday's paper and today is Thursday. Why did they have the old papers in the rack??? Shouldn't they be moved elsewhere? Another Grrrrrrrrr

Decided I might as well get started working. What's this... I have no internet and have to spend 15 minutes trying to get it back up.

All this before 8:00 am!!!

KGrams who is thinking of going home, getting back in her bed and pulling up the covers to shut out the world today.

Getting it all back together

I survived my first hurricane! I was amazed at how powerful it was (we aren't exactly on the gulf) and how VERY stressful it is. Unfortunately, we got hit with the eastern wall of the eye. Major damage to the area!!!

We were fortunate that we did not have damage to our house, just downed trees and a huge amount of debris to clean up. (I'll post pics that I took later) We were also lucky to get our power restored late on Thursday. They are saying that some won't get power for another 4 to 5 weeks!

That's all for now as I'm too exhausted and stressed to type today.

KGrams who really hates the name Gustav and isn't so excited hearing the name Ike right now either.

Hurricanes = People & Stupidity

Have y'all heard of this guy?
Well, it appears that I am about to experience my first Hurricane. I'm a little apprehensive about it, but not as hyped up as most since I wasn't in LA for that big mean bitch they called Katrina or her almost as cranky sister Rita. The b/f says he did have a few trees come down and lost power for several days. But hell, that can happen in any storm really. Went through that 2 summers ago in St. Louis. So, I'm not panicked, just sitting back and waiting with my well stocked pantry, batteries and camping supplies nearby for in case they are needed.

What's getting me is the total laziness and stupidity of people. For those of ya that remember, I work for that horrible business of insurance. Do you know how many people have called me today cause they have not bothered to purchase property insurance and suddenly need it today? Or just discovered the policy they have doesn't cover wind. It's like a zoo here! Come on people, it's called being RESPONSIBLE! You wait till a major hurricane is coming before you decide you need to buy coverage and then get pissy cause the companies have stopped writing it? Don't ya think people would've learned something from August 2005?
I'm just saying, think of this shit before the storm is projected to hit your ass.
KGrams who is now not in the best of moods due to exhaustion and dealing with stupidity.

And the Answers Are...

First of all, blogger is being a biatch... and has decided it will allow me to sign in and post comments on my own blog at it's convenience. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr So If ya have someone you like better and ya don't mind sharing, please let me know.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. (Asked by the Undercover Mutha & Tammy) Where is Doodlebug/Grand baby and what is she up to? Doodlebug is still back in St. Louis. : ( I miss her tremendously!!! She is doing well, getting bigger everyday. I can't believe she is 3 1/2 years old now.

This pic was taken 12/27/07 when I went back to STL to spend some time with her for Christmas. Do NOT look at the fat chick in the pic - horizontal stripes are not a big girl's friend. LOL

2. (Asked by the fab Melissa) Why do you look so fantastically hot? Can I get some of what you're on? Please sister, I am so not hot, but thank you very much. I wish I could say I'm on something really good, but I'm not, it's called... willpower and it SUCKS big time. : )

3. (From the ranting and raving Tammy) How did you lose the weight? I quit eating. That is I rarely eat junk food or fast food and I don't eat out. We cook at home every night and I take leftovers for my lunch. Also, I don't eat past 7:30 at night... I have now moved this rule up to 6:30 as I have quit losing and need to jump start it again. It has been a tremendous struggle involving a lot of willpower and walking for exercise. And that man of mine is nooooooo help at all. Do ya know what it's like to live with a coon ass that was taught to cook by his maw maw and loves to cook. The man is slowly killing me with good smells. I told him he needed to break my jaw for me so I could have my mouth wired shut... he wouldn't even help me out with that. Damn men. lol

4. (Once again from the ranting and raving Tammy) What part of LA are you in? I'm down in South East Louisiana... BR.

Anything else on your mind? If so, please comment as I love getting comments!

Just received this in an email. I laughed so hard... knew I had to share it with y'all.

A couple was celebrating their golden wedding anniversary on the beaches in Montego Bay , Jamaica . Their domestic tranquility had long been the talk of the town. People would say, 'What a peaceful & lovingcouple' The local newspaper reporter was inquiring as to the secret of their long and happy marriage. The Husband replied: 'Well, it dates back to our honeymoon in America ,' explained the man. 'We visited the Grand Canyon, in Arizona , and took a trip down to the bottom of the canyon, by horse. We hadn't gone too far when my wife's horse stumbled and she almost fell off. My wife looked down at the horse and quietly said, 'That's once.' We proceeded a little further and her horse stumbled again. Again my wife quietly said, 'That's twice.' We hadn't gone a half-mile when the horse stumbled for the third time my wife quietly removed a revolverfrom her purse and shot the horse dead.

I SHOUTED at her, 'What's wrong with you, Woman! Why did you shoot the poor animal like that, are you f*ckin crazy!?' She looked at ME, and quietly said, 'That's once.' And from that moment.....'we have lived happily ever after.'

Anyone got an Ark???

Cause if Faye don't take her wet ass elsewhere soon, I'm gonna need one.

WTF, my first August in south Louisiana and has only been up in the 90's a few days and my yard looks like a swamp. I should have taken a picture of it yesterday, poor Brutus couldn't go outside as the standing water was up past his little legs. (Makes note to start carrying camera around again for blogging pics.) Guess that's what happens when global warming hits, everything gets hotter and dries up. Send AL Gore here and let him take a look. Better yet, never mind, he can stay where he is.

KGrams who is seriously tired of rainy cool weather and is in bad need of some heat and major vitamin D.
