A little brown envelope

Caution... this post contains happy thoughts without a hint of ranting or raving.

I haven't been blogging lately as I have had sooo many things to do. Tonight, I am so tired that I was planning on coming home, spending some time with Doodlebug and going to bed early. Well, when I got home, I knew I had to find time to blog as somebody special made my day.

I'll start at the beginning for you. I received a note in my mail on Tuesday that said I had an envelope at the post office that I needed to pick up from someone named Billy. I called the post office and asked why I had to pick the envelope up. They said it's insured and therefore must be signed for. I was very perplexed as I was not expecting anything, nor do I no anyone named Billy. I was able to get off work early enough to stop by the post office tonight to pick up the envelope. When the handed it to me, I was even more confused, as it was from a Billy in Portland, OR. Now, not only do I not know anyone named Billy, I most certainly don't know anyone in Portland, OR. I immediately opened the envelope and found the most amazing thing.

First, I have to say to my blog sister Crayonz THANK YOU so much. You have totally gone overboard and we don't deserve this, but there is no way I would ever give it back. This is now my most favorite gift and one that I will cherish forever!

What Crayonz did, was take this picture of my adorable (352 day old) granddaughter... (guess who's celebrating their 1st birthday next week?) also known as Doodlebug from my blog. (She was 6 months old in this picture as this just happened to be from my bday post of 7/17.)

She blognapped the picture and had it made into this wonderful work of art.

The scan of this does not do it justice. This person who did this drawing is a genius and captured her eyes and smile perfectly, down to the little bubble that was on the tip of her tongue.

Thank you again for this most fabulous gift. I will be taking it in to have it framed this weekend and every time I look at it, I know I will remember what a fantastic little girl Doodlebug is and how fortunate I am to have met such a special and wonderful person as Crayonz and her beautiful daughter Lauren.

OMG!!! It's beautiful!!! That is a most precious gift. It's just georgous, even more so than when you described it to me from the parking lot at the post office in near tears of happiness!!!! (yes, now I remember that purple & white outfit - I even bought that one)

That woman (Crayonz) is truly amazing and TOTALLY SHOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT!!!!!!! (WE'LL BEAT HER ASS FOR IT LATER)And yes, I too miss her very much. She is more like the sister that "D" should be.

Crayonz: you went overboard woman!!! But, when Kgrams called me from the post office with tears in her eyes, please take note that you did the most wonderful, thoughtful and precious thing!!!

Happy "near" B-Day Doodle!!!!!

YEA! You got it! You got it! Hey, what can I say? I was able to get you a heartfelt give I know you'd love (cause I love mine) AND I got to help feed an amazingly talented starving artist.

I didn't know about the post office pick-up, or I would have warned you. I figured it was probably best to just have Billy ship it straight to you, so that's why it was a tad confusing.

Glad you love it! And by the way, this is DOODLEBUG'S present. Just don't let her play with it too much. ;)

Love you guys.

By the way, Billy's site is I Draw 4 You. Everybody go buy stuff and feed him. This world needs more artists like him.
