My Life As A Middle Child - Putting Together The Pieces

Update - What I've done today

Here is an update from my earlier post.

I finally managed to get the following items completed:

1) Purchased and loaded a zip drive to back up my documents and photos on.

2) Purchased frames @ Target and put pictures in them.

3) Blogging - I caught up on reading all new posts and even found my recipe for Bean Dip which I have now posted on Smorgasbord Sunday.

I feel so much better now that I have accomplished the things that I truly wanted to do and not worrying about what I had to do. (Plus, shopping at Target always makes me feel better) I am now off to start Doodelbug's laundry and then head to bed with a new gossip magazine.

Good night and pleasant dreams.

The one about the book

Here is a list of the things I had planned or needed to do today...

1) Clean House
2) Laundry (Doodlebug's and my hand wash fabrics)
3) Purchase and install a backup drive in my computer (all my pictures are now stored on my computer and I am afraid of losing them)
4) Purchase frames for new pictures of Doodlebug and hang or display them
5) Grocery shopping
6) Blog - read all new, comment and post (including find missing recipe)
7) Organize my desk
8) Catch up on some paperwork for the office.

Here is a list showing the items above that I have accomplished.

Notice the big blank space??? Yes, I have not done anything that I planned or needed to do. This book is the reason for it. On Wed night, my hairdresser handed me this book as I was leaving her shop and said you have to read this. On Friday night, I picked it up, opened it and read the first couple of pages. I then immediately put it down saying to myself, "you can not pick this book up again until you have more time as it is going to be good". Well, that was the understatement of the year. Between last night and this morning, I have now read this book cover to cover. It was so good that I couldn't put it down. Then sometimes, I was so emotional over it, that I had to put it down for 10 or 15 minutes.

If you haven't read this novel, it is definitely a must read. I will warn you that a box of kleenex should be kept by at all times.

Now that I have my life in a little more perspective and have realized what is rubber and what is glass, I am marking #1, 7 & 8 off my list and making #3, 4 & 6 a higher priority and not really worrying about the rest.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday!!!

Attention Sports Illustrated Magazine

Look no further as we have found your next Swimsuit Edition Cover Model...
If you would like, we can play in the sand.

How about we just pull up a rock and talk for a little while.

Anyone for a little rafting???

Would you like to see something a little more middle of the book type? How about this one...

This is what I like to call my after the beach party laying around at home look.

Yes, it appears that Doodlebug is ready to start appearing on magazine covers. I had these done at Sears today and promised myself that I would only buy a couple. Yeah right... looks like I'm going to need a second job to support my picture habit.

Don't forget your recipes....

That's right, tomorrow is Smorgasbord Sunday. Make sure to post your recipes for this week's topic of Something South of the Border.

If you see a recipe you like, please help yourself. Also, if you don't mind, please leave us a comment so we know how you liked it.

If you are not a member and would like to post a recipe, please leave a comment stating so and I will make sure you are added.

Where or where can it be???

Why can't I find anything when I need it??? I am taking Doodlebug to get her pictures taken today in her swimsuits (she has 2) and 1 of them is missing. Last week, 1 of the diaper bags was missing. Do I really buy things so that they can just walk out of here whenever they want.

Must go now and continue my search.
UPDATE: At 4:30 today, I have been notified that the missing swimsuit has been found. Yes, I was have now been informed that the swimsuit is in the teenager's car approximately 80 miles away. I don't even want to know why.

EA went above and beyond the call of duty today. YEAH EA!!!! She went to Babies R' Us for me and picked up another swimsuit just like the missing one. EA, THANK YOU on so many levels for doing this for me, you know how difficult it is for me to run in and out of anywhere with Doodlebug and you also know that I never would have been able to walk out of that store with just the swimsuit.

Stuff Portrait Friday

This week's SPF theme takes us to the bedroom for... Where you sleep.

Per Christine over at random and odd, you need to post photos of:
Your Bed
Your Dresser (or drawers)
Your favorite Jammies

This is what my bed looks like if DH is up before I leave in the morning.

This is what I find when I get home at night if DH was still in bed when I left that morning.

Here is my dresser. OK, I will show you a drawer, but remember, I do have some OCD tendencies.

Hey, I warned ya.

These are my favorite most comfortable pair of jammies... they are a soft cotton and the bottoms are capris.

If you want to play, hop over to Kristine's and let her know I sent ya. Have a great Friday.

Did you know....

Today is Easily Amused's Birthday.

If you haven't already, make sure to pop over to her blog and wish her a Happy Birthday. I know she would love to hear from you.

What was today all about anyway???

I saw this posted in a co-workers cube and knew I needed a copy of it.

This is all I am saying for today. Good night!!!

Big things come in small packages

I just love getting packages. It doesn't matter that I ordered and paid for the item, I still get all excited when I receive a package. (Yes, you can call me a dork it you want, but it won't bother me as I got a package today.)

So today, when I returned to work (I took yesterday off), I found this package from LTD on my desk.

The excitement was just too much and I had to open it immediately. Yes, it was just what I was hoping it would be. (It's actually been on backorder for several months now.)

I rushed home with my little package tonight and immediately handed it to the teenager and told him to open it and set it up. While the teenager was finishing with the set up, I took Doodlebug up to her room and got her ready for her new surprise. When we came back down, this is what we found sitting in the backyard.

I think Doodlebug likes it when I get packages too!

Ohhhh, what have I done???

I think I have really done it now. The reason I say this is that I have just spent the last hour trying to get a very tired Doodlebug to go to sleep. I have done everything possible to get this poor tired girl to give up the fight and go to sleep. I have been playing her favorite lullaby cd, while rocking, walking, swaying with and holding her in every possible position available. I even tried laying her in her bed, this action was definitely not appreciated by her. My left arm is now very sore from holding her 18 lb body for the past hour and my right arm feels like it has been used for a sparring partner in a boxing match.

The good news is that she is now sound asleep tucked in all snuggly. How did this finally happen you ask... I gave up. Yes, I finally gave up and layed her down in my bed. Within 2 minutes of her little body connecting with my mattress, she was sound asleep. What kind of a bed monster have I created??? I need my bed for myself, I can not continue to share. Please I beg of you Mr. Sandman, let her go back to sleeping in her own bed.

As previously promised, my bday gifts

Yes, I know my b-day was over a week ago, but I've been busy. So, as promised here are the absolutely fab gifts, that I received.
Canon Powershot A95 5.0 Mega Pixels 12x Zoom
This is the one item I wanted more than anything. I even told my DH that if he got me this and if I could have it early, I would not want anything else for my bday. As he couldn't resist my sad pouty face and the fact that my old camera wasn't taking the best pics of Doodlebug, he and my mother-in-law went in together and bought me this back in May. They also purchased a larger memory card, lithium batteries, a compact flash card reader/writer and a case. They are the greatest : )

Now, knowing me as well as he does, my DH knew he had to have something for me on my Bday, so he gave me a very sweet card with a $100 bill in it to go shopping for whatever I want. (I still have it, as I want use it for something really special)
Then, on Monday, I received this at work...

The card was soooo sweet. It said "Just when you least expect it, something beautiful will come into your life, just as you came into my life". Talk about making a girl need to grab a kleenex. He definitely earned extra brownie points with this one. He can leave the tp roll empty for the next 2 weeks and I will be happy to be the one to replace it.

Magnet Sheet for printing pictures, Portrait Paper, Hershey Kisses and a fab watch with matching bracelet.

All of this was from my good dear friend Lumpy. Hmmm, I wonder what pictures that I would want to print onto magnets for the fridge and my cubicle cubbies??? Yes, she know me well lots of Chocolate.
Last and definitely not least, I received the following wonderful gifts from my Little Sis, aka Easily Amused.

Bottle of Tresor Perfume

I am so happy as I love this stuff, but won't spend the $ on it for myself.

Suncatcher for my kitchen

This was the gift that EA was giving me hints on. It is a beautiful glass suncatcher with grapes.

Yes, I was truly extra spoiled on my Bday, I hope everyone else has a wonderful bday this year too.

I'm feelin kinda hungry now...

We had some great recipes for Desserts with Fruit posted over at Smorgasbord Sunday yesterday. If you haven't checked it out the site yet, make sure do as there's lots of yummy going on. Better yet, it's not too late if you still want to post your dessert recipe. (If you aren't a member and would like to post a recipe, just add a comment letting me know and I will make sure to get you added.)

I would like to say thank you to mrtl, crayonz and easily amused for participating this week. A special nod goes out to meritt even though she has a bum finger, she did comment on a few recipes with additional thoughts and ideas.

Next week's theme is Something South of the Border. Start going through those cook books and come up with something good.

The sights, sounds and smells of a concert

AMENDMENT TO POST:
I apologize to my fellow bloggers, however, I left out one high point of the evening that I must add. One of the members of our little group decided during the concert to take off her bra. Now as we were as far back as you could get from the stage, we were quite curious as there was no way it was ever going to make it to the stage. No, she was just hot and uncomfortable and decided to take it off and put it in her purse. Yes, the section we were sitting in truly should have been called "adult only". Also, no matter how much you try to get me to tell you, I won't name names on who this person was, I will only say it wasn't Lumpy and it wasn't me. hehehe

As previously noted, Lumpy, Easily Amused and I purchased tickets to see Journey. On Saturday, Lumpy came to my house as she actually lives a good 90 miles southwest of me. Once she arrived, we picked up EA and the three of us braved the midwest heat and started our roadtrip to see Journey. (FYI... it was an outside concert)

$24.50 and it included parking and a free CD.

Here's a copy of their new CD that will be coming out this fall.

Journey took us on a Journey back to the days before Infinity with some instrumental selections. There were ok, but we were really wanting them to get on with the good stuff. When they did, it was great!!!

As they don't allow digital camera's in, I took my old camera and got some pics, but now the camera will not open and release my film. If I can get it to work, I will come back and add the pictures.

The extra entertainment of the evening...
The Cave Man - This was a guy with hair practically down to his butt and fanned out across his back. He must have walked by at least 20 times to go get more beer.
Guitar Mugs - These were beer mugs shaped like guitars (they amused EA).
Paris - Yes, there were Paris Hilton wanna be's strutting their stuff.
Hanky Panky - There was a couple on a blanket and she was, well, ummmm, touching his nether region. Yes, this was taking place before it got dark. Can we say... Get a Room.
More Hanky Panky - after it got dark, there were 2 girls in their late teens, early twenties standing behind us having a caressing and kissing extravaganza. They finally got mad and moved on as some guy kept staring at them. (Hmmm, imagine a guy watching this) I'm sorry, did we purchase tickets in the make out section or what???
Magnetic Blinkies - You know what I'm talking about right? Well, one guy had these attached to the tie strings of his shorts, which weren't tied and were hanging down. You get the picture I'm sure.
Shirtless - Why do men think they all look so good without their shirts? We saw more guys with tiny chests and beer bellies than should be allowed.
The Couple - Then, there was the couple who looked to be in their early Sixties. I say ROCK ON!!!
Where to pee - The group walking in before us were telling stories of how they actually pee out their car windows when they are on the highway as they don't like to have to pull off to a rest area or service station. Can we say Hoosier!!!
How you doin'? - Lumpy and I were walking to get refreshments when 2 younger guys walked by and wanted to know if we were enjoying our evening. We both burst out laughing and decided they either had not had enough or needed way more beer.
Do you smell what I smell? - Yes, we smelled it. Someone near us had the inevitable concert accompaniment... weed. (Maybe I should have brought my bracelet buddy for them. LOL)

OK, now I know your thinking... Wow, what a deal. A concert, parking, advanced copy of a new cd and all the extra entertainment for the low low price of just $24.50. Well, here is where they made up for it.

Chair Rental $5
20 oz Bottle of Coke $4
Bottle of Water $3
Frozen Lemonade $5
Beer $6.75
Pretezel $3.50
Concert T-Shirts $35 and up

An entertaining evening out with the girls... priceless!

They now know even more about me...

Sunday Night News Bulletin...

The Top Story of the night is:

The government is watching me and they now know that I have purchased:

Yes, I too have the dreaded Sinus/Allergy problems and have had to purchase the most sought after and hard to get drug known to man. To be allowed to purchase such an item, I am now required to show a photo ID which the pharmacist immediately copies all my personal information into a log book and marks down exactly how my milligrams of the product that I have purchased.

I actually feel that it is a very sad state that it has come to the point that innocent people can no longer just pick up needed OTC medicine and have to go when a pharmacy is open and deal with the extra paperwork due to the horrible meth makers of the world.

On a lesser note, we have this report:

Do you know what the following item is?

The reason I ask this is that my DH found this item on the shelf in our bathroom one morning.
That night, the conversation went like this.

DH - (Holding up the item in question) Do you know what this is?
Me - Yes, I do. Don't worry, it hasn't been used, see they aren't any black spots on it.
DH - Excuse me?!?!?
Me - Just kidding... do you know what it is? Also, where did you find it?
DH - It was in the bathroom this morning.
Me - Ohhh ya, that's where I left it.
DH - And just why do you own this? (still not saying exactly what he thinks the item is, but I know what is going on in his mind.)
Me - Oh, I use it every morning when I'm getting ready, it's really a great little item that helps me.
DH - (again) Excuse me?!?!?
Me - OK already, it's a bracelet buddy.
DH - A what???
Me - You know, a bracelet buddy. You attach the clip to the end of the bracelet, hold the stem in the hand you're putting the bracelet on and use your free hand to do the clasp.
DH - Oh, OK I was just wondering.
Me - Not a problem, also, if it was for what you were thinking of, it would also have feathers hanging down from it. Giggle Giggle Giggle

Yes, I am quite mean to him. I guess I really should have just told him when he first asked, but I couldn't help myself.

Also, I'd better be more careful where I leave this as after all, the government is watching me now that they know I take sinus medicine.

I would do anything for a Doodlebug

Yes, I would do anything and buy anything needed for a Doodlebug. To show you an example of my ultimate love and devotion to Doodlebug...

We have this beautiful crib that is on loan to us. Before Doodlebug was born, we picked out and purchased all of the bedding and toys. Now I ask you, what little angel baby wouldn't want to sleep in this wonderful bed?

The answer to that question is... a Doodlebug who is not feeling well and has a fever. Both Thursday and Friday night, Doodlebug decided she wanted to sleep elsewhere.

Here and only here is where Doodle decided she would sleep.

Grandpa was kicked to the couch and our bed was made into a pillow fortress. See the open area on the left... this is where I was allowed to sleep. (It was more like close my eyes for about 15 minutes off and on all night.)

Tonight, I will sleep in my bed without the Doodlebug... yes, tonight I will sleep.

Not a good night to be a Doodlebug

Aunt T (AKA Easily Amused), I am so sorry that I was not able to come to the phone last night as I was having a bad day. I went to the doctors and they gave me several shots. Look what the meany doctor did to my leg.

It had better go away, as I had beautiful thighs that everyone loved before he and his nurse got a hold of me.

Yes, it was a rough night with my temperature going from 99 degrees to 100.9 degrees. I so wanted to sleep but couldn't get comfortable, so I only took 2 little 45 minute naps. (I got this info from Grandma). I finally went to bed around midnight and I got to sleep in Grandma's bed as she was so worried about my breathing and fever. I love sleeping in Grandma's bed, it is so comfy. Can you tell me how to fake a fever so I can sleep there again tonight???

Grandma keeps telling me that I have to get better as she hates to see me sick. She also mentioned that we are all going out tonight and that if I'm not better, I can't go. BWAAAA I want to out, I will do my best to get better.

I did have a few good minutes (Grandma's words, not mine) and was able to send you this special raspberry.

Thank you for calling me, I'll see you tonight. Love, Doodlebug : )

I'm late and it's Way Back Wednesday...

OK, I must post before the stroke of midnight so that I can make Way Back Wednesday. OK Mama Duck has really done it this time.

This week's theme is: Education & Inebriation

I can't actually post any pictures, as I never went to college to have any taken (I got married at 19), and all my partying was done in my teens and none of us could actually hold a camera very long to take pics once we started drinking. So as not to be left out (and suffer the embarrassment of being laughed at by Mama Duck), I will post a story.

Please keep in mind that up until the time I was 15, I was a total geek and then, once I turned 15, I decided I needed to make up for lost time.

It was the night before my 16th birthday when some of the guys that I hung out with realized that I was going to be 16 the next day and decided that I needed celebrate. They decided that they were going to take me out and show me a good time (before you even think it, not that kind of a good time, we were all close and I was like a little sis to them.) We all piled into S's vehicle and went to 7-11 where S could get served. They bought me a pint of Jack and also purchased a couple of cases of beer.

After purchasing the booze needed for this little party, they took me to a park down by the river and told me they were keeping me out all night. When we got there, they had me take shots of Jack and then chase it with the beer. I thought I would die when I did the first one, then I decided it wasn't so bad and kept going. We actually had a great time, telling stories and jokes. They guys even had a fun time playing catch with my shirt. (Must add comment here: the style back then was to wear a tube top and then wear a button up type of shirt over it and to tye the button up shirt at the bottom. However, my bday is in the middle of July and it was freakin hot out, therefore, I had taken off the outer shirt, my tube top never left my body.) We continued to drink and laugh and sing in the park until the police came. They were notorious for hopping the curb and driving down the walk area. We jumped up and started running and fast as we could for drunk people, into the park and up a huge hill. All the time we are running, I am trying to pass all the booze I have to one of the guys as he was older than me and the other 2 are trying to get my shirt out of the tree they had hung it in. We finally got up to the top of the hill in the park, dropped to the ground and started rolling with laughter.

I did manage to finish off the pint of Jack and I don't know how my beers I consumed that night, but I just know that when we got back to S's car, I was so trashed that I couldn't stop giggling and laughing. S took us back to his house to pass out for awhile and all I can remember is him saying Shhhhh your gonna wake my mom. I woke the next morning (fully clothed) with the biggest hangover of my life. When I got home, Mom & Dad were both gone (thank god), I prayed to the porcelain god for awhile and then took a cold shower and passed back out still in my towel. When I woke up, my tongue was actually black from all the Jack. UGH!!! Needless to say, I spent most of my 16th Birthday sleeping and puking. From that day forward, Jack and I have no longer been friends. Just the smell of jack brings back memories from my 16th bday and has me gagging.

Ok, in reading this, it was not near as interesting and funny as it was living it... I guess you had to be there, or maybe just be really really drunk!

Where's my rubber duckie?

I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to post tonight, then this happened and I immediately yelled for DH to bring me my camera as I had to have these pics and I also knew that I had my post. The only thing missing from these pics is a little rubber duckie.
Hey, why can't I hold the water?

Ohhhh, I love a cool shower on a hot summer's day.

Rain drops keep falling in my head and my eyes did turn red

But I'm not gonna complain, cause I like it!

What, it's time to get out now... do I have to???

End of bath time and nite nite time for all. Shhhhhh goodnight.

This one's for the early bird...

Who's going to get here first???

OK, I saw this cartoon in the copy room at work and knew I had to post it for Easily Amused and Crayonz.

It's what time already???

I just realized that my first comment on a blog tonight was posted 4:51 pm. I have now finished reading and commenting on my everyday "must reads" and I have also posted reply comments on my own blog and it's 6:59 already. OMG, where did the last 2 hours go? I haven't even typed a post for today yet.

That's it, I have to have a talk with DH, as I need to quit my job so that I can dedicate more time for blogging. ;)

The guy, the shower and other thing

Wow, last week just flew by, time really does speed up as you get older. (See, I can laugh at myself for getting a year older.)

Here are a few items from last week:

The Guy (I know what you were thinking, but no the shower is not part of this story.) I hate men drivers who think they own the road. Now this comes up as last week when I was on my way to work, this guy pulls up to the right of me at the stop light. Now, there was only 1 person behind me, but did he get in line? NOOOOOOOO, he had to pull up next to me and he starts inching forward in his lane to beat me, as the lane he is in becomes a parking lane on the other side of the stop light. Well, being the little devil that I can be, and knowing the light sequence so well, I waited, watched the intersection carefully and when the light turned green, I jumped on the gas pedal and beat him across the intersection. He looked floored when he pulled in behind me, I guess he didn't think a girl in a girly SUV could take him. HA, take that and EAT MY DUST!

The Shower - now this story is just sad. First let me give you a little bit of a picture of the set up. My shower is the kind in a bath tub, and it is not the brightest place to be, as I have a shower curtain and there is not a light over the tub. Secondly, I do not wear my contacts or glasses in the shower. OK, now back to the story... I was taking a shower the other morning (ok, before the wise cracks start, I take one every morning) and saw something move on the side of the tub near the bottom. My mind started racing... OMG, did that just move? What is that? I grabbed a 1 liter bottle of Biolage Shampoo and proceeded to pound it to death. Upon further inspection after getting out of the shower and putting on my glasses, it appears that I put to death a poor defenseless piece of fuzz. (Please don't turn me into the Fuzz, I mean Police for murder.)

Now the other thing... I totally amused my DH this week. While I am a constant source of humor and amusement in his life, this one totally caught him off guard as it wasn't due to my superior witt or keen sense of humor. LOL It was due to my toes... Yes, I amused my husband with me toes. (Hey, before you start laughing too much, EA actually amused herself with her own toes last week. Yes, we are a sad pitiful family.) So, I was standing in the kitchen looking in the freezer for something when he just started starring at me. You know the look, the one where you check to see if you have something green in your teeth or that all your buttons are buttoned and zippers are zipped. Well, he was looking at me like that and then he got this silly smile on his face. I asked What?!? He answered check out your toes, they match your pj's. I looked... and he was right. Here is a pic of my toes with my jammies. (Mel, if you're out there reading this, you may want to turn away as I know you have a problem with the french manicure on the toenail thing.)

So, that catches everyone up on my week and I'm ready to start a new one.

P.S. Late B-Day gifts are accepted and will not be returned to sender. hehehe

Where has the time gone????

I sit here today on my Birthday, yes all together now...

Happy Birthday to me/you, Happy Birthday to me/you
Happy Birthday dear KGrams, Happy Birthday to me/you!

Anyway, today has been a mixed emotion kind of a day for me. I keep thinking how did I get to be this age, I surely haven't lived 38 years??? This then started a trip down memory lane, back to when the teenager was a baby and through his adolescent years. Doodlebug's Mommy let me have her most of today for my Bday and as always, I really enjoyed spending time with her. She reminds me so much of her Daddy at that age. I dug up some old photos of the teenager and thought I would post them with my normal posting of Doodlebug pics.

This was taken at Lump's house last weekend.

These 2 pics are from this week, when she turned 6 months old

These 2 pics are the teenager when he was 9 months old.

The only drawback to having Doodlebug is that eventually, she has to leave. It really made me start thinking even more than I normally do for us to try again. DH brought this up over dinner tonight as well. I made him quit talking about it as I was starting to tear up and it doesn't look good for the Bday Girl to cry at her own dinner. I think one of the reasons it was weighing so heavily on my mind is that I know that I am really and truly to old to try it again.

In this trip down memory lane, I remembered a funny story to share with you all. I remarried when my son was 10 years old. To get an idea of how young and innocent he was, here is a picture a family member took of my son walking me down the aisle.

As soon as we were married, my DH and I started trying to have a baby and were pretty frustrated that it wasn't working. Now my son always thought that kissing was sex. I of course let him believe this, as he was young and I wasn't going to tell him any different at that particular time. We were actually waiting until we were pregnant and then we were going explain it to him, we had even bought a book for him. Apparently, he didn't wait for us and found out some information on his own.

One day, we ran out for a few minutes and when we got back we found this note taped to the kitchen cabinet. I figured out what our problem was... an hour and a half! Hehehe Labor lasts a couple of weeks??? We laughed so hard when we found his note and still laugh today when we think of it. (You will need to click on it to actually read)

Yes, he knows the truth now, at least I think he does, after all he is a Daddy now.

OK, this isn't my mug with my mug, but a much cuter one, after all, I she hasn't had a photo posted in days now. Can you see the look of absolute Shoegasm on Doodlebug's face? Yes, she is my junior Shoe Goddess... I am such a baaaaaad influence.

My drink of choice??? Pepsi or Coke with lots of ice!

Have a great Friday!!!

Stuff Portrait Friday

TGIF... It's Friday and you know what that means, time for Stuff Portrait Friday. If you would like to play along, just pop over to random and odd and tell Kristine that I sent you.

This week's theme is the 80's. As if I didn't embarrass myself enough with Way Back Wednesday's Prom theme, here are my pictures:

Something from the 80's that I can't let go of.

At first, I was going to post a picture of the teenager, then decided right now, I could actually let him go. So I went and found Raggedy Ann. The first picture is actually from 1982 when I first got her. My Aunt lived in Boston and came to visit us for the very first time and brought these dolls with her as gifts for us. She hand made them and each has a stitched heart with the words "I Love You" in it. Easily Amused still has hers and it's even in her bedroom. I'm sorry to say that mine had to be dug out of a plastic bin in the basement. Raggedy Ann will not be returning to the basement, she will now have a special spot in Doodlebug's room.

A Picture of me from the 80's

Before we even start on how I look, don't you love the way the photographer of this pic made the stairs the center of attention? It's probably all for the best or else you would be able to see more of me. LOL Yes, the pink eyelet handkerchief shirt and eyelet purse with a wooden handle. Ohhhh... what a fashion statement I was.

A CD or movie you have from the 80's

Actually, I have several, but I went with this one. Yes, I am a fan of the movie Dirty Dancing and I love the music so much that I have the CD in my car. What can I say, ~ (I've Had) The Time of My Life ~ during the 80's and just don't want to completely let it go.

For anyone not believing how great a time it was, Easily Amused, Lumpy and I have purchased tickets and are going to go see Journey in concert.

P.S. Is that song stuck in your head...
Now I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
and I owe it all to you
Good, cause it's in mine and I hate not to share.

Who are these people

and better yet, why are they here???

I love my family, but some days I wonder why do I have to live with them??? I am so tired of coming home and finding everything out of place. I know I have already commented on the toothpicks and the empty toilet paper rolls, but let's take this a step further.

Yesterday...
The teenager had his cousin spend the night on Tuesday. Wednesday morning, they get up and make cinnamon rolls for breakfast. After breakfast, they leave... they leave the house and they leave a dirty pan covered in icing goo on top of the stove, dirty paperplates on the counter, a 1/2 glass of sprite in the family room, a 1/2 glass of milk in the family room, the TV on and the lights on. Yes, they left just for me.

Today...
I had to leave for work (I actually had to take a class all day) and I come home, they apparently had to leave as well. Only, they left the trash bag being shoved down in the trash can and everything thrown on top and around it. Then I noticed there was "leaving" going on all over the house... empty soda can one kitchen counter, empty cup on another counter, the unmade bed, a wet hand towel on the bathroom sink and the phone. Now just where would one find a phone that is not in it's cradle??? Try on the teenagers bed under a pile of clothes and whatever else the junk on there was. Yes, not wanting to disappoint me, they again left just for me.

Now, could they just leave me and not leave for me??? This is all I will say for now, but please comment and let me know that I am not alone in my struggle for sanity and cleanliness.

House Cleaning would have been easier...

Have you ever noticed that you will do just about anything to get out of cleaning the house? Well, tonight I was supposed to be doing just that, as I spent my day blogging and playing with Doodlebug. However, first I decided, I would check my blog for comments. Who was I kidding... ya right, just check for comments. Then I thought, I've been wanting to change my template, I could just quickly do that now and then clean house. What dream world was I living in??? Quickly change my template to a whole new design and then add all my extra links and items. HELLO, wake up and join the real world!!!! Blogger was definitely not my friend tonight, as I would add each new area and then preview it and it looked fine but then when I actually saved the changes, the info would actually move to another area or be messed up. ~Heavy SIGH~

Well now it is several hours later, most of my template is complete and I hope you like it. If not or if it looks funny, let me know. Actually after all the problems I had with it, you had better like it and not complain.

I am now going to bed... good night. Oh and I guess I'll have to clean house tomorrow night.

Way Back Wednesday #2

It’s time for everyone’s favorite new game sensation… Way Back Wednesday!!!

Mama Duck over at The Kept Woman came up with this game, so if you would like to play, please feel free to join in, just tag back to her site and let her know I sent ya.

This week’s theme is PROM.

Mama Duck, you have really done it this week and have no clue what you have asked of us. It took me hours of digging to find this picture as I thought for sure all copies of it had been burned, but low and behold I still had one tucked away in a box of memories I am keeping for the teenager.

Ok, before you look, I must ask several things of you first.

1) If you have not visited the restroom in the last hour, please do so, as I am not to be held responsible for any adult peeing their pants from laughter.
2) Remember, it was 1985… no one looked good then!
3) Please keep in mind this little piece of information…. 2 weeks before Prom, I went camping and in not wanting to fish all day with the rest, plus in an effort to try to have a tan body for prom, I decided to lay out and read a book. Unfortunately for me, I fell asleep and no one with me had the common sense to wake me up until my skin was so red, that Elmo looked pale in comparison to me. Yes, due to the severe sunburn, my face swelled like a balloon and I actually had water blisters all over my body… oh yes, what a wonderful time I had.

Well, you asked for it and you have agreed to all of the above. So, here it is, my Prom Picture.

Thank you all for visiting and laughing at, I mean with me.

Have a great Wednesday!
