Another Photo Montage

Yes, we spent another evening at Sears' Portrait Studios. After all, it is baby girl's 1st Birthday, so we must have new photos to display.

Even the toughest critic would have to say that this is one cute little girl.

Do your cheeks hurt from smiling at em' all? Have a great weekend!!!

To Doodlebug with Love

I received a phone call at work one day in September 2004, asking me to come to school due to my son. They told me it was nothing bad, but that he just needed to talk to me. I of course dropped everything and rushed out. On the way there, I kept thinking what could this be. The only thing my mind kept coming up with was that his g/f was pregnant . My mind was correct. This was the day that I learned a very special child was on their way into our family (she was already 5 months by this time).

On January 12, 2005 at 5:00 am I received a phone call saying that g/f was in labor and on the way to the hospital. This is the day I finally got to meet a very special little girl I call Doodlebug.

Doodlebug you came into our lives at an unexpected time, however, we knew without a doubt that we wanted you and would not have traded you for the world. You will probably never fully understand how much your PaPa and Gma love and cherish you. Your constant smile and laugh brighten our day. Watching you explore new things each day keeps us in a constant state of wonder and amazement. You are growing up so fast and right before our eyes, that we are afraid to blink or look away as we might miss one precious moment of you.

Welcome to the world Baby Doodlebug

A little brown envelope

Caution... this post contains happy thoughts without a hint of ranting or raving.

I haven't been blogging lately as I have had sooo many things to do. Tonight, I am so tired that I was planning on coming home, spending some time with Doodlebug and going to bed early. Well, when I got home, I knew I had to find time to blog as somebody special made my day.

I'll start at the beginning for you. I received a note in my mail on Tuesday that said I had an envelope at the post office that I needed to pick up from someone named Billy. I called the post office and asked why I had to pick the envelope up. They said it's insured and therefore must be signed for. I was very perplexed as I was not expecting anything, nor do I no anyone named Billy. I was able to get off work early enough to stop by the post office tonight to pick up the envelope. When the handed it to me, I was even more confused, as it was from a Billy in Portland, OR. Now, not only do I not know anyone named Billy, I most certainly don't know anyone in Portland, OR. I immediately opened the envelope and found the most amazing thing.

First, I have to say to my blog sister Crayonz THANK YOU so much. You have totally gone overboard and we don't deserve this, but there is no way I would ever give it back. This is now my most favorite gift and one that I will cherish forever!

What Crayonz did, was take this picture of my adorable (352 day old) granddaughter... (guess who's celebrating their 1st birthday next week?) also known as Doodlebug from my blog. (She was 6 months old in this picture as this just happened to be from my bday post of 7/17.)

She blognapped the picture and had it made into this wonderful work of art.

The scan of this does not do it justice. This person who did this drawing is a genius and captured her eyes and smile perfectly, down to the little bubble that was on the tip of her tongue.

Thank you again for this most fabulous gift. I will be taking it in to have it framed this weekend and every time I look at it, I know I will remember what a fantastic little girl Doodlebug is and how fortunate I am to have met such a special and wonderful person as Crayonz and her beautiful daughter Lauren.
