Am I old enough

for a Midlife Crisis???

Merritt made this comment to my post the other day, "I think you are going through a midlife crisis. Instead of Corvettes and tanning you're going for sex toys. LOL."

This got me to thinking, first am I really that old now? I will be celebrating the first anniversary of my 39th birthday next year. Yup, I am that freakin' old now.

But still, could I possibly be going through a midlife crisis? So I started thinking of all the things I have done the past 6 months:
1) I changed jobs
2) Started going out more with Lumpy
3) Flew to another state (Chicago, IL) to see a Bon Jovi Concert
4) Have sex on my mind constantly
5) Started tanning again (merritt, you didn't realize this one huh)
6) Got very adventurous on my vacation and let my DH take pictures
7) Bought sexy bras and panties to wear and when getting dressed, I make sure they match my outfit.

OMG... I am having one. Quick someone get me some Pr_zac and tell me how long this is going to last. Then again, I am having a great time, so maybe drugs aren't needed and I don't want it to end after all.

For all you fans out there....

***UPDATE: Thank God for TIVO... apparently, Little Miss woke up on the wrong side of the crib yesterday morning and was sill not in a good mood last night and demanded constant attention and was not happy unless her DVDs were playing. I only got to see a total of 8 minutes of the recap from last year. Yup, that's it that's all, 8 minutes.

Kgrams - who will be found curled up on her couch watching 2 hours of Grey's Anatomy this weekend.***

Don't forget, tonight is the season premiere of GREY'S ANATOMY!!! (Does it look like I was shouting that? Good, because I am just that excited.)

I heard on the radio this morning that they are going to do a 1 hour recap of last season (7:00 central time) and then the premiere will immediately follow.

For a sneak peak of tonight's episode, you can click here.

Kgrams - who has already set up her TIVO just in case Doodlebug gets cranky as there is no way she is going to miss a second of the show.

A Few Ramblings

1) Doodlebug has a new favorite movie...Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Not what is there not to love about chocolate? That's my girl!

2) I bought an ab lounger (found it used on Craig's List) last night. Does it work if I just own it and look at it? LOL

3) Thank you Jose for coming up with these great mini bottles of pre-made Margaritas. (In case you're wondering, I'm on my 2nd one tonight.)

4) I just signed up to have a party at my house. This isn't any normal candle or home decorating party, no siree, I'm going for this one. (Hey, I warned you a few posts ago that I was starting to get gutsy and becoming a new woman.)

5) Tomorrow night is happy hour night with my previous co-workers. WOO HOO!!!

I'm off to a nice warm bubblebath with Jose... hope everyone has a wonderful night!

Is it just me???

Last Sunday was my DH's birthday. We went to dinner at one of his favorite restaurants to celebrate. We were too stuffed for desert, however, they sent this wonderful Chocolate Cake home with us.

Smothered Chocolate Cake
Topped with warm homemade chocolate ganache and sprinkled with pecan pieces.

Knowing he is not a big fan of chocolate (in my book, this just isn't normal) on Monday night, I mentioned possibly taking it to work and sharing it with Lumpy. He said no, he wanted to eat it.

Fast forward 1 week - I went grocery shopping tonight and had to make room for the new things I had purchased. Guess what I found in the fridge? Yup, you guessed it... the chocolate cake. He had never even taken a bite out of it. Here is where I am confused and need to know if it's just me.

1) I had to throw away a piece of chocolate cake - is it ok that I was teary eyed and actually considered eating it even though it was a week old?

2) Conversation with DH.
ME - Hey, you wouldn't let me take this piece of cake to work and yet you didn't even eat it.
DH - I was waiting for you to cut it for me.
ME - Uhh, I think you're big enough now to handle a knife and cut your own cake, not to mention that it is only 1 piece.

Now tell me, why is it that he can't cut his own piece of cake? (Personally, I would have just eaten it out of the container with a fork and not bothered to cut it at all.) My take on this is that I'm not his mother, I'm his wife. Am I right or wrong here? Please let me know your thoughts and if I'm wrong, I will apologize to him, purchase a new piece of cake and even cut it for him.

kgrams - who is still wanting to go dig out that cake and eat it.

And She Lived Happily Ever After

UPDATE: Tammy & On the Go and anyone else interested... I paid $258 + tax for the Medium Signature Hobo and used it less than a month, (It's really just too big for me) I am asking $150.
Last night was a truly shitty night. I had some issues (sorry, but I'm not willing to discuss it at this time) and was worried half out of my mind all night.

So you would think that after this type of a night, God would look down and take pitty on you the next day. Not so... I had my first budget meeting. I was prepared and went into the meeting feeling very good about my budget for 2007 and our office move. Unfortunately, the owner of the company was not in the same mood. After 90 minutes or so, we finally came out of the meeting with multiple changes, (additions, deletions and reconfigures) and 4 projects for me to do. By the time we got out, I was feeling totally frustrated and like I had been beaten up.

So I ask you... when the going gets tough, what do the tough do?

In my case, it's shopping. So, after the meeting Lumpy and I went to lunch.

Since I had gotten this little item in the mail a few days prior (it's an invitation for Fall Chic from 9/13-9/17 @ 25% off anything in the store), we decided to spend our lunch hour at the Coach Store. I swear, just walking in there makes me feel better.

I am now the proud owner of this...

Chelsea Optical Hobo Bag. I HEART my new bag.

Now, I certainly couldn't have a new bag and not have a wallet to go with it could I? Check out my new Hamptons Striped Wristlet.

While I was floating pretty high, I still needed a little something more, so I stopped at my favorite Red Bulls Eye store on my way home from work and picked up this item. It even has a Exclusive Bonus Footage Disc.

I am now officially on Cloud 9 and living in Fairy Tale Land.

On the Go, here is the bag I was talking about selling. I bought it in Feb and used it for less than a month.

A Little TMI

OK, so maybe this post is really a lot of TMI : )

So, I'm getting a little gutsy in my old age (I turned 39 this summer you know) and more comfortable with my body and have decided to try some new things.

1) Sun tanned nude on the balcony of the condo in Mexico. (Yes, there was a palm tree hiding it for the most part, but if looked around the tree, you could see up there.)

2) Allowed my DH to take pictures of me on said balcony and other places while half nekkid during our vacation. (Not to worry, we used the digital camera for these pictures.)

3) Got tired of the bumps and itching from shaving and the burning from using Nair, so I actually got a bikini wax tonight. (Surprisingly, it really didn't hurt and I have booked another one for next month and may go a little further with it.)

4) Decided that even though I'm a big girl, I'm not going to wear big girl panties any more and bought myself some really cute and somewhat sexy lace hipsters. Girls, I must tell you that they are the most comfortable underwear I have ever worn.

5) Taking it a step even further, I got really gutsy and listened to what Mama Duck has been saying and even bought a thong.

Watch out world, there's just no stopping me now.

For my fellow G. A. fans

I found the following story on Yahoo news today and just had to share it.

By MICHAEL CIDONI, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 26 minutes ago
LOS ANGELES - The doctors were in, as cast and crew of the hot TV medical drama "Grey's Anatomy" converged Tuesday night for a celebration of the DVD release of the show's second-season episodes.

The cast was generally tightlipped about third-season plot developments, but word did slip that the Meredith-Derek-Addy love triangle would finally be resolved, at least to some degree.
"Well, I think that you do see it, there is definitely a resolution, otherwise it becomes a really strange isosceles triangle," Kate Walsh (Dr. Addison Shepherd) told AP Television.
"So you see a resolution to the love triangle and you see all of the characters on their own a little more, myself included," she added. "The relationship becomes in it's proper proportion. You see them who they are as a person and who they are professionally in a whole new and different way."
There was also talk of some casting news:
Diahann Carroll and Richard Roundtree will appear in recurring roles as the parents of Dr. Preston Burke (Isaiah Washington)
"Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Second Season — Uncut," which also includes about five hours of extras, hits stores Sept. 12. The show begins its third season on its new day, Thursday, Sept. 21 on ABC.

Ohhh, I can't wait for September 12th & then the 21st.

Kgrams - who is counting down the days to see Dr. McDreamy again.

Uhh Helloooo and Excuse Me?

So, I posted about how great my vacation was... and it was great. However, as we all know, nothing is ever perfect, so here is my list of a few things that were just not right:

1) Aunt Flo staying with me the first few days of vacation.
2) 70 and 80 year old women in bikinis.
3) 70 and 80 year old women in bikinis that unhooked their tops to sun bathe.
4) Old hairy fat men wearing speedos.
5) Big girls wearing bikinis. (Hey, I'm a big girl and I know what I should and shouldn't wear. That much white flabby skin should be covered up and butt floss should not be worn in public.)
6) People who let their small children run around unsupervised while they sleep in a cabana.
7) People who let their small children run around for hours without their swim trunks. (Said child was also peeing on all the palm tress and plants.)
8) Me being the only white person and only other girl in the back of a van full of Mexican guys.
9) $7 for a box of Cheez Its, $2.50 for a can of Coke and $3 for a candy bar. (I have a lot of cravings I'm having to take care of this week.)
10) Finishing my book on the 2nd day and no books to be found at the resort gift shop.
11) $20 for 2 hot dogs, 2 cokes and a small bag of chips at Cancun Airport.
12) People holding up the security checkpoint as they are trying to take bottles of liquor through at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport. (Yes, the duty free guys gave it to you on the plane when you left Mexico, but when you went through customs, you were supposed to put it in your bags you were checking. DUH!!)
13) The asshat on the plane that used the bathroom and stunk it up sooooo bad that I had to hold my breath and was still gagging. (If you couldn't wait till you got home, we had only been in the air 10 minutes, could you not have done that at the airport?)

I would like to say a big THANK YOU for the wonderful lady at Dallas/Fort Worth Airport who let us go in front of her at the security checkpoint as we only had 15 minutes before our connecting flight to Missouri was taking off.

Kgrams - who is now starting to peel and really hates that her great tan is already fading.

Vacation - All I ever wanted

Vacation - Just had to get away.

NOTE: If you want to be jealous of me for this post, that's fine I totally understand. I also understand if you decide not to read it. However, please don't leave me any hate comments as I'm still on cloud 9 and would like to stay there until I return to work on Tuesday.

I couldn't take it any more and had to leave my crazy fast paced life behind and hit the sandy beaches of Mexico. Yes, the DH and I actually took an entire 8 day vacation together. (Other then going to The Lake of the Ozarks, this is our first real get away for just the 2 of use since our honeymoon 7 1/2 years ago. ) Also, yes we are still married and even talking. LOL

So for vacation this year, I picked Cancun as neither of us have ever been to Mexico and thought it would be exciting, and it was. We actually stayed about 30 minutes South of Cancun in an area known as Riviera Maya. We stayed in the Grand Mayan part of the Mayan Palace and the resort was simply fabulous. We had drinks while basking in the sun, went shopping in Playa del Carmen & Cancun and snorkeled the reefs in Puerto Morelos. This was absolutely the best vacation we have ever taken (other than our honeymoon in Maui).

Now for those of you who don't know me very well, we never took vacations when I was growing up. We spent every weekend and any vacation time my dad got camping or visiting family in Springfield, MO. Therefore, I was a little afraid as far as traveling to a foreign country and going through the whole customs thing. However, I have now faced those fears and am already thinking about booking a trip next year to a different city in Mexico.

Kgrams - who is no longer a travel outside of the US virgin.
