It's what day again?

It looks like the week is almost over. It's been very confusing to me as I was off most of last week (had to work a 1/2 day on Wed) and our office was closed on Monday, but I think I finally have it straight. Yesterday was Hump Day/WBW, tomorrow is TGIF/SPF Day, so that means today is Tantrum Thursday.

Well folks, I'm happy to say that this week, we have had nothing but a content and happy baby and I'm feelin' pretty good myself. So, even though she's not crying or throwing a fit, I will show you some of my favorite pictures of Doodlebug from the past week.

Doodlebug after opening her gifts on Christmas Eve Morning. (We celebrated a day early as she was at her Mommy's on Christmas Morning). From the look on her face, she got everything her little heart desired.

Doodlebug opening her new Red Flyer Wagon at the inlaw's house Christmas Day. It looks like such a big box may have been a little overwhelming for her.

Look what Santa left under our tree.

And my favorite pictures of all this week...

Her first chocolate chip cookie.

I know what EA is thinking right now and no, you can not lick the chocolate off her face.

Hope everyone had a great week!!!

Inquiring minds want to know

(NOTE: Blogger was being difficult in arranging my pictures and I finally gave up. These 3 pics belong further down in the post. Just act like they are there when you get to that area and no one will get hurt. Thank you from a very tired and frustrated Kgrams. )

Planning and Shopping = Months
Boxing and Wrapping = Hours
Opening the Gifts = Minutes

Another successful Christmas Morning = a massive pile of trash. You thought it would say priceless didn't you?

Actually, we had a wonder Christmas and I hope you did as well. The title of my post is actually attributed to this post.

The items in the bag were as follows:

First I pulled out this adorable little snowman couple. I know Doodlebug & Easily Amused picked this out as I love snowmen and this is how happy my DH & I are together. OK, you can stop gagging and move down to the next item.

Next we have 2 adorable little angels, I guess DB and EA thought these represented them? I will give it to DB, but EA... no way. LOL

And last but definitely not least, was this wonderful mug. Yes, it will definitely be my new Hot Chocolate Mug. I wonder how they were able to pick this one out. hehehe

This Christmas, I was totally spoiled. EA went waaaaaaay overboard with a bonanza of gifts in a huge gift bag. Here are some of the items it included.

Yes, those are purse and shoe paper clips. The notebook says "Some people work to live, other live to work. I work to expand my SHOE COLLECTION and EAT OUT. Does she know me or what? She even included cute little socks (if you know her, you know her sock fetish).

As if all of this wasn't enough, my DH went way overboard on his gifts this year. He normally gets me 5 or 6 items. This year he got me 2 gifts.

I opened the first one and saw this:

In case you can't read the writing on the box, it says COACH.

The second item was this.

Yup, he is giving me a 4 hour spa treatment and shopping for a Coach Purse. I ask you, does life get any better???

So now, I showed you mine, will you show me what was under your tree?

Christmas Stuff Portrait Friday

I know it's been a long time, but today I am playing SPF. Just in case you have no clue what I'm talking about, I'll give you the rules. The beautiful and newly engaged Christine over at Random and Odd gives us a 3 items which we must scramble around and take pictures of and then post on our blog. This week's theme of course is HO HO HO it's Christmas.

The 3 items this week are:

1) Your favorite wrapped present
2) Something new you added to your decorations this year
3) Your Christmas cards

My Favorite Wrapped Present

I know it's really a bag, but I love it for several reasons.
1) It has a snowman on it.
2) It's purple and pink (my favorite colors)
3) It's from Doodlebug
4) Last, but definitely not least, the bag and gift were actually picked out and paid for by none other than Easily Amused.

Something new I added to my decorations this year (OK, I have 2 things)

This one is for Doodlebug. When we were at the Hallmark Store, she was laughing and dancing when he was playing. So yes, we had to buy one for our house. When she goes into the living room, she immediately stops at him and turns him on. Hey, if it keeps here happy and away from the Christmas Tree, I'm all for it.

This one I bought for me. This is from Party Lite. It plays music and the snow can be turned on and off.

My Christmas Cards

I normally hang all of my cards up, but this year they didn't make it as someone in my house just loves to pull things down. : ) Sorry if your card is not showing, but I ran out of room on the table.

Did you play? Let me know and I'll make sure to stop by.

Magical Night in a Magical Kingdom

Yes, it is Thursday, but no Tantrums here tonight. Tonight, we went on a journey. What with the holiday "Christmas" season ( yes, I must add the word Christmas as I am refusing to be PC about it), we decided to have a family night and do something fun together. So, we loaded ourselves into the beast and set off to Santa's Magical Kingdom.

As the speed limit is about 2 miles an hour as we wound through the over 2000 shimmering lights and animated displays, Doodlebug was allowed to sit on my lap. From there, she took in all the sights and sounds. She ooo'd and aaaaah'd at the lights and bounced to the music playing.
I was so busy watching her, that I found myself not paying attention to the lights themselves.

I have been to the light display with my DH in past years, but this had to be the best time ever, seeing it with the teenager and Doodlebug. I can't wait till next year when she will actually understand what it is she is looking at.

Hope you had a fun family evening as well.

Belated Tag

First, I would like to take a moment to apologize... due to the holiday hustle and bustle and all the other normal stuff going on, I am once again late on my tag. Then, when I actually had the time to sit down and do my post, blogger wouldn't upload my photos. AHHHHHHHH

OK, now that is done, Tammy tagged me for the following:

Christmas Tag - a picture of your Christmas tree.

This is a picture of my tree that I actually took the day after Tammy tagged me. It's a good thing, cause with all the additional presents I've added, you can barely see the tree.

You know I had to throw one in with Doodlebug. Doesn't she look pretty in her Christmas Dress and so grown up at 11 months?

Ten Random Things About Me tag:
1. I have worked for the same company for 11 years.
2. People always tell me that I appear confident and know what I am talking about, but when I have to speak to a room full of people (even those that I know) I am very nervous and feel like an idiot.
3. I have been married twice. The first time at the age of 19, the second time at 31.
4. I hate seafood and refuse to even cook or touch it due to the smell.
5. I purchased my first brand new car when I was 30.
6. My first airplane trip was in 1997 to Florida.
7. I have para-sailed and want to hang-glide.
8. No tattoos for me, but I am constantly teasing my DH that I am going to get one. (Secretly, I am too scared of the pain, plus worried where it will drop to and look like 20 years from now.)
9. My first job was at a community school when I was 13 years old.
10. I love lists!

Now, it's my turn to tag 5 people: Easily Amused, Crayonz, Melissa, The Kept Woman and anyone else up to the challenge

EA...my pimp and my partner

I had planned on posting my tag from Tammy today, but something happened that must be posted first.

Our office closed at 3:00 on Friday for our annual holiday party. At 3:05, I was getting ready to walk out of my cube when my phone rang. I hesitated for a brief second on answering it, but my OCD got to me and I had to pick it up. Boy am I glad that I did as it was On the Go's Mom (P). She had come up "FREE" tickets to Neil Diamond and was offering me some. Needless to say I jumped on them. (Lumpy and I had wanted to go, buy neither of us could justify shelling out $85 a few weeks before xmas). I immediately called Lumpy and told her the good news.

Now, for the title of my post. The reason I got the phone call was because P actually called Easily Amused and asked her if she was interested. She stated no, but that I was dying to go. Yup, EA knew my addiction and hooked me up. On Sunday (the day of the concert), I called Lumpy early afternoon to remind her of something before she headed out to my house, I was told she was in bed sleeping. Later at On the Go's baby shower, I received a call from Lumpy's DH telling me she was sick with the stomach flu and wasn't going to make it. I asked EA what she was doing that night and her answer was... going to see Neil with you. Is she a great sissy or what???

I have to say the concert was amazing. Neil may be old, but man can he perform. Our seats where fab. We were so close that I could see the bongo players earring. EA mentioned that she was sure she could actually hit the stage with her bra. Not to worry, she kept it on, but I think the thought of it was really weighing on her mind. hehehe

So, yes EA hooked me up and stood there by me... I couldn't ask for a better sister.

For those of you concerned, the mushy stuff will stop here and I will be back to my normal self tomorrow.

What's your holiday song?

My holiday theme song is... Let It Snow

Maybe you enjoy all of the year's holidays, but there's just something about this time of year… Even if Mother Nature cheats you out of a White Christmas, you know how to make the most of the season — whether with loved ones or strangers you meet along the way. As much as you might like to bundle up and romp outdoors, you also enjoy kicking back to bask in the glow of the season — or maybe the glow of a dozen strings of lights in your living room. You, more than others, really know how to feel cozy. And for someone who enjoys curling up by a fire, warming a cup of cocoa, or snuggling down with a classic Christmas movie, there's no better theme song. So just remember: If the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is so delightful, and if you've no place to go, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Click here to find out your holiday theme song. Hey, don't forget to leave me a comment letting me know.

I didn't even use botox

While Gma is a little under the weather, I thought I would take over her blog for her. Plus I figured as she hasn't been posting much, you must all really miss me.

The other day, Gma kept telling me that I had Jolie lips and didn't have to use botox. I'm not sure what Jolie lips are or what botox is, but I do know that it hurt really bad. You see, I'm into walking now (or as Gma calls it, frankenstein lumbering... I don't get this either) and the other day, I was walking across the living room when I got all the way to the other side. I got so excited that I had made it all the way across to the big green tree with all the lights and shiny stuff that I fell and hit my mouth on the coffee table. It hurt really bad and there was red stuff everywhere. Gma held me close and kept telling me it would be ok, but she was crying too. Then, she gave me my special toys she keeps in the big box with all the food it in and I felt much better.

Here are a couple of pictures that Gma took that night, but trust me, my lip was much bigger the next morning.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and I'll talk to you all again soon.

Love,

Doodlebug

The worst part of being sick

I hate being sick, it really sucks bad. I am a run around, get a ton of things done kinda girl and yet I have been parked on my couch since late yesterday afternoon. (EA, I know you've been stuck on the couch as well honey and I feel for ya, but at the end of this, you will have to agree that this is just a little worse.) I woke up Friday morning with a cough. By 3:00 that day, I was headed home feeling sickly. Yesterday it was worse and today is not much better. I am coughing, sneezing, have a headache and feel like someone took a baseball bat and beat the crap out of me. Ahhh, but this is not the worse part of it all. You see, my DH is not feeling well either. Yes, I am living with a sick man in the house. But it gets even worse than that. If I had to pick, I would much rather be my husband at this time.

Reasons why I would rather be him:

He doesn't have the sneezing and runny nose
He doesn't have to cook and do the dishes while ill

and the #1 reason I would rather be him....

Men don't have to worry about peeing on themselves when they cough and/or sneeze.

Yes, being a sick female just sucks!!!

My Greatest Achievement...

has become my biggest failure

I haven’t been around lately as I have had a lot of things happening, well, at least one big thing. I have started this post in my head many times, but have never actually typed it out as I keep hoping that things will change.

My greatest achievement was the day my son was born. This was the most special day in my life and I have treasured being a “Mom” to my son for the past 17 years. However, I have now found out that I have actually failed at being a parent and am apparently not the great mom that I thought I was.

On Wednesday, November 16th, I found out that my son had skipped school for the past 2 days and work for the past 4 days. When he arrived home that night from “work”, I confronted him with this information. He didn’t have any answers as to why other than, “I don’t know”. When I kept pushing him as this was not acceptable, he told me that he hated this house and everything here, including me. Yes, my son, the person that I love the most in the world and would give my life to protect told me that he actually hated me. He said he hated it all and wanted to move. I told him that I was really sick of hearing him tell me that he wanted to move and that if he was really that unhappy and wanted to move, that I would help him pack and take him to his Dad’s on Saturday. He continued to be rude and throw a fit. I then said forget it and why wait, that I would take him out to his Dad’s that night. To prove our point, we took his car and house key from him. What we didn’t know was that he had made another key to the car. He walked Doodlebug’s mom out and then hopped in his car and took off. I didn’t see him again until Friday, Nov 18th when I was driving back to the office from a client appt and saw him pulled over on the side of the road by a police officer (failure to wear a seat belt). Needless to say, I doubled back and pulled over as well. We hugged on the side of the road and agreed to eat lunch together. We talked but really didn’t talk. He didn’t know what his problems were, but needed some time to get his thoughts together and figure out what he wants. It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I had to leave him when we were done. I so wanted to grab him and take him back with me, but I couldn’t as he would just run again and run even further. On Monday, Nov 21st, he called me at 11:00 pm and asked if he could come home. I was so relieved and immediately said yes. He came home and we talked a little, but he really didn’t have much to say. The next morning he left for school and I didn’t hear from him again until Thanksgiving. This is when he showed up to get more clothes and wanted gas money to go see his dad. I told him no that I wasn’t giving him any money and that I was actually going to take the car back. Doodlebug and her mommy showed up then, he waited until I was talking to the baby and he took off again. I found him at my Mom’s house and we had it out over his irresponsibility and that he could not continue on this path. Then with the help of my family I took the car and stashed it away somewhere. My sister “D” then drove him to his Dad’s house (about 35 miles away). On Friday, his Dad was dumb enough to bring him back into the city and dropped him off here. My son sweet talked me and apologized for everything. The minute he found out that I didn’t have the car and that he couldn’t have it back, he stated “that’s it, I’m outta here”.

I then spoke to him again the next Tuesday. He had made a decision and decided he wanted to move to his grandparent’s house (about 45 miles away). Wed, his Grandpa picked him up around noon and by 5:00, he was calling me crying. He stated he was confused and didn’t know what he wants to do with his life. He begged me to come get him, so I hopped in my car and brought him home. We had a nice conversation and discussed a lot of things. He still wouldn’t tell me why he didn’t want to live at home, but did tell me he would like to try and live with my sister “D”. We talked to “D” and told him we would try to work it out for him. He stayed at home on Wed night. On Thursday, I spoke to him on my way home from work and he told me that he had spoken to Father at school and had gone to confession. He then told me he knew why he didn’t want to live at home. He can’t stand my husband as he is jealous of him and the fact that my DH took me away from him. I explained that I was not taken away from him, that he comes before my DH any day and that my DH knows that. I also explained that he actually gave me up, as he has gotten older and wants to be with his friends and not hang out with Mom much anymore. I also explained that this is normal and that I would always be here to help him and would love to do things with him whenever he would like. He then came home when I got home from work. When I got home, he helped me get ready for my candle party and then went to a friend’s house until the party was over. This morning, I asked him what he wanted to do. He said he would like to try living at home again. Tonight, I found out that he walked in one door and out another. Here it is 10:00 pm and he has not come home yet today and is out with some friends that I don’t know anything about.

Everyday has so many twists and turns that I just don’t know anymore and I am just living minute to minute. I may have failed as a Mom, but I’m not giving up yet.

Thank you for taking the time to read this long post. I will try to get back to my normal blogging and happier posts.
