Another version of Tantrum Thursday
I actually feel bad posting this one as it seems like I am picking on someone, but I'm not. Also, I really needed something for Tantrum Thursday and I wasn't able to get any tantrum pictures of Doodlebug this week. So, once again, here is my twisted version of Tantrum Thursday.
Here is what I did 2 weeks ago ~
This puzzle is from J.D. Robb's "In Death" book series.
Notice it even had high heel shoes... how did she know I love shoes? LOL
Here's what I did last week ~
This is the true puzzle for D is for Diamonds. I took the other puzzle back and they very nicely handed me another one and apologized.
This one ended up being tougher than I thought as it was actually the same basic picture with a before and after seen.
Sorry the pic is turned, but it took so long to get blogger to load them that I wan't about to delete and re add.
Here is what I did this week ~
I actually bought this for the teenager, but he whined about it so much, that I ended up doing 90% of it.
My DH actually bet me when I had about 50 pieces left that I couldn't finish it in 30 minutes. I finished it in 15 minutes and quickly collected my $20 bucks from him!
See what I finished tonight???
P - A poison that leaves no trace (Sue Grafton)
Easily Amused, haven't you finished your puzzle yet? Oh oh oh, here comes the tantrum... just read her comments and I'm sure there will be tantrum a plenty.
My home away from home
I was reading a few of my favorite blogs the other day and noticed that
teh was in creative blog slump and was asking for ideas/topics to blog about. I too have been in a major blog slump lately and have had very little to absolutely no creativity lately. I blame it on the long summer as we are just tired and worn out and of course it couldn’t possibly be a problem with my brain not functioning properly. LOL
So, the other day as I was sitting at my desk trying to get a really long Monday over with, my brain was thinking… (Just incase you’re wondering, yes I do think in lists as I really truly love lists – almost as much as shoes)
1) I wonder where my friends and blog friends are right now?
2) Are they as bored as I am today?
3) Man I need to clean my cube (the dust bunnies are starting to take over behind my monitors.) as apparently, that is not part of the cleaning crew’s job.
4) I’m so bored with my cube, I need to redecorate it.
5) I wonder what everyone else’s office/cube or workspace looks like.
With this last thought, a light bulb went off. I have a new post – YEAH!!!. I ‘m going to post pictures of my work area (after all, it’s where I spend a LARGE part of my time) and ask others to do the same. We know what each other’s bedrooms, kitchens and other various other parts of their homes look like (even some areas that are more than we bargained for) but no clue where they spend large portions of their weekdays. I know some of you are lucky enough to be SAHM, so if you want to join in, post the area you spend the most time in with your adorable children or maybe even the room or closet where you go to hide from these angelic little beings.
Here is my home away from home.
This is my “Career Center”.
Don’t you just love that phrasing for cubicles? Personally, I think it’s more like a padded cell (institutional gray even) with a doorway. Bwahahahahah
As I work with all of the employees in my company and I also hold training classes, I actually don’t spend a lot of time at my desk. So, these are pictures of the training room where I hold my classes and training sessions.
So, now I’ve shown you mine, will you show me yours???
Any Dream Will Do
What a weekend... busy busy busy.
On Saturday, I loaded up Doodlebug and went to see my friend Gypsy and her daughters K & L. Here are some pictures of her adorable little girls who were just too happy to pose for my camera.
K is 3 years old & L is 6 years old
You know that I couldn't post pictures of adorable little girls and not give you a picture of Doodlebug.
When K & L found out that Doodlebug was coming to play, they immediately went to their toy box to find lots of toys for her to play with.
Onto Sunday, I was supposed to go out with Lumpy but she called and couldn't make it due to the weather where she lives So, I called up Easily Amused and asked her if she wanted to go with me in Lumpy's place. She agreed to brave the rain and go. I know you're asking where did they go? What was so great that they braved the major downpour of rain that Rita sent to the State of MO? We went to see this. The show was great and we had a wonderful time. (In case your wondering about my title, it is one of the songs from the show.)
Now for the amusing part of my weekend... we all know that EA has what can only be described as hissy fits and tantrums. I'm also sure that you all know the phrase "foaming at the mouth". Well, Sunday I was subjected to something totally new even to me, I looked down and EA was actually foaming at the toes. Yes, you read that right, she was foaming at the toes. No, she wasn't mad or irritated, she was just wearing a pair of shoes that have a suede footbed. Due to the rain we had to run through, it caused the shoes to actually foam when she squished them with her toes. I tell you, this was just too funny to see.
Now that the laughing is done, I have to say I love shoes and I love shoes with suede footbeds, who are the shoe people and what are they putting in our shoes to make them foam when wet???
Tantrum Thursday
Yes, it is finally Thursday, which according to
Crayonz means that its time for another installment of Tantrum Thursday. This week I'm posting my Tantrum Thursday with a twist.
In my house we have a 24 hour rule, if something is left more than 24 hours, it is fair game. Well, EA's son was over on Tuesday night and I bought him something from the ice cream truck. He put it in the freezer and never got around to eating it... 24 hours are up buddy and it's now fair game. Bwahahahaha
The above paragraph was necessary so that you will understand my tantrum post.
See these really cute shoes??? They were delivered yesterday by the UPS man for Easily Amused (we put them in my name as I get free shipping due to my preferred customer status). These shoes have been at my house for 24 hours now... do you know what that means??? Herein lies the tantrum, EA is reading this post, throwing a hissy fit and getting ready to call me and tell me this is so not fair. I am such a mean sister. hehehehehe Luckily for her, the shoes are the wrong size for me.
OK, I know you want a picture of Doodlebug for my tantrum post, so here is another picture.
See what she is holding??? Guess who was having the tantrum in this episode?
Alright, enough of the twist to my post, here is a picture of Doodlebug having a tantrum.
See the calculator that she just dropped by her right hand? I think she had figuring out how much the gas would cost for her walker this week. LOL
I'm here... are you???
Yes, I am back from the brain dead, super busy place I have been and am ready to enter the blog world again. Did you miss me??? Thank you to those who were wondering or worried about me. I have a magnet that EA bought me that says "Life, it's just so daily". This has really summed up my last few weeks.
So, my last post was a tangent on junk mail/spam, telemarketers, chain letters, lurkers and mean people. I am so glad to see that I am not alone with my thoughts on these. If you want to check, I have commented back to everyone.
Now, onto better things... how many steps does it take to be considered walking? I'm asking this as Doodlebug has now taken to pulling herself up, standing by leaning against things or holding on with one hand. The other day, she not only was standing all by her little adorable self but she actually took a step and she did this twice. Then, later that day, she actually took 2 whole steps by herself... is this considered walking??? I guess I'll be measuring her feet and ordering those
preschoolians this weekend.
Look at me, I'm ready to go out, dance and play now that I can stand.
Ooooh, here's where I left my toys.
Look Kgrams, I can play and still stand (as long as 1 hand is touching the chair)Make sure to scroll down my blog, as I did post last week's Tantrum Thursday & SPF.
SPF - Stuff Portrait Friday
or in my case Slow Playing Female. Kristine over at
Random & Odd comes up with the great scavenger hunts of pictures to post on Fridays.
I took my pics last week, but never posted them... so, here is my entry for the 9/16 Stuff Portrait Friday.
1) Your Kitchen
2) Your Handwriting
3) Something Random
My kitchen -
I really want to update it with new cabinets, counter top and paint it a golden color with a (fake) Venetian plaster finish, but that requires $, plus getting the guys to help me with this is close to impossible.
Here is one more example of my OCD... this is my pantry, almost as bad as my sock drawer huh.
My handwriting -
My DH always comments on how large I write, I tell him it's just like me, large and rounded.
Random Object -
I decided to go to the bedroom for these pics and am posting 2 of my bedmates. (EA & teh keep it G rated here)
You have seen glimpses of this guy, but he has never been in the spotlight. So, let me introduce you to Patrick the Pup. He was a gift to me from my DH on our 1 year dating anniversary. For the past 7 years, he has taken residence on my bed. FAO Schwarz now has a pink version named Penelope. I'm sure Doodlebug will be getting one for her 1st birthday, it's just a matter of how big it will be.
Now, for my new bed pal...
this is my new CPAP machine. I now get to wear this great mask and use this machine to breathe each night. Hey, if it allows me to actually sleep, I'm all for it.
So, there you have it and there you are... my very late SPF.
Tardy Tantrum Thursday
Yes, it's late and it's not very good, but here is my entry for Tantrum Thursday 9/15.
Doodlebug is not a big fan of getting her face cleaned after she has eaten a snack.
This was the calm before the storm, but it's all I got as unfortunately the batteries in my camera died.
Here I go again...
It’s been awhile since I have been on a tangent, so I guess one was due. Yes, I am once again going to rant, rave, throw a hissy fit and generally be pissy about something.
My problem… junk mail/spam, telemarketers, chain letters, lurkers and mean people. I am sick of all of them.
To me, spam and junk mail are the same thing. As the companies were finding they weren’t getting enough attention with the crap they were sending through the mail (and the cost is so high), they started sending spam to our email addresses at home and work. Apparently, that isn’t enough either, as now they are spamming our comments. So much in fact that Blogger had to create word verify and most of us have had to turn it on.
1) I do not want to buy anything from anybody that I have not personally solicited or been referred to.
2) I do not need drugs for mental stability (ok, maybe I do but I’ll get them from Walgreens) impotence or for anything else.
3) I do not need toner at a reduced cost by sending you my empty cartridges and having you refill them. (I’d probably spend more on the postage than I would to buy them at the store.)
Then there are the telemarketers. Yes, I am on the MO No Call List. However, if I have already purchased a service or do business with someone, this law allows them to call me. What ticks me off is
1) Please speak English when you call and learn my last name, it isn’t that hard
2) No, Mr. is not home, I am Mrs., and you can speak to me re the credit card offer. You can’t speak to me? You don’t mind when I sign the credit card slip at the store and you don’t mind when I sign the check that pays you, but you won’t talk to me when you want to offer us one of your “special” services that you provide.
3) We do not want any “special” services added to our card. Yes, we know it would allow us to miss a payment if we are disabled. We have no balance on our card and we have never had a balance on our card… I do not need this.
4) No, we do not want additional credit cards. (Like who would I give it to… the teenager? I think not!)
Ahhh now for the chain letters and emails that tell you to click on a site for free stuff. I get so many of these at home and work that it drives me crazy. I forward very few emails, but if I get one with a good story or joke, I will pass it on. However, I do not pass on chain letters as:
1) There is no such thing as free stuff.
2) Microsoft and other companies are not sending out checks for hits to their website.
3) Chain letters do not cause bad luck (if I don’t pass it on)
4) Chain letters do not cause good luck (if I do pass it on... remember, I have no luck at all. LOL)
5) My phone is gonna ring if someone dials my number, not due to an email.
6) This is not for a kid’s school project
Last but not least, there are the lurkers and mean people. I welcome all to come, read and enjoy. However, if you are taking the time to come by and read on a regular basis, please comment. I know I visit others and do not always have time to comment or do not feel I have anything creative to add, so therefore, I do not comment on every post that I read, but I do comment every few times I visit their site. Therefore, I do not expect you to comment on every post I have, but occasionally would be nice.
Now, with regards to commenting, don’t be mean, be nice!!! I am not a prude and I can laugh at myself without a problem, so if you have something funny or risqué to add to my stories, go for it. Of course, nice words are always welcome and gratefully accepted. Do not leave rude, inappropriate or mean comments on my or anyone else’s site. If you do not like what you are reading or have a problem with it, just move on.
Whew, I think I now have all of that out of my system. Sorry for the long post, but sometimes, things just need to be said.
Kgrams who doesn’t like mean spamming junk mail chain letter people.
Here's proof once again
Once again, here is proof that I just have no luck at all.
Easily Amused and I were out Friday night when we passed by a store that sold puzzles. I had noticed and remarked about these puzzles several times to my DH, but he had never bought me one. Well, when I saw the 30% off sign, I decided I had to go in. As you have already guess, EA and I both decided we were each going to buy a puzzle.
These are mystery jigsaw puzzles. There are 2 puzzles in the box and you have to put them both together to solve the mystery.
Now, there are no pictures to show you what the puzzles should look like, you just have to start finding pieces that look like they go together. Image my surprise when I opened the factory plastic wrapped box and found that both 500 piece puzzles were mixed together. (Guess I should have read the back of the box for this info huh.)
This is a small book that comes with the puzzle. You read the 4 page Mystery story and then start putting the puzzles together. Once you have read the story and completed the puzzles, you solve the mystery. To see if you are right, the answer to the mystery is on page 5 of the book, but you have to hold it up to a mirror to read it.
I know it's strange, but to me, this sounded like a lot of fun.
Here is a list of the different puzzles available. I chose the D is for Diamonds and EA chose the C is for Chocolate puzzle.
So, Saturday I decide to start on my quest. I read the story about a guy murdered at a campground and then I start working on the puzzles. I noticed that there are a lot of word clues and decided to start with them.
I finished this puzzle Sat night. The clues were kinda confusing compared to the story I read, but I thought... do the second puzzle and see if it helps.
Sunday, I started the second puzzle. Did I mention that there are no pictures anywhere of what either of these are supposed to look like? Did I also mention that I had the most adorable almost 8 month old with me Sat night and Sunday? What about the fact that her PaPa thought it was ok to let her stand at the table I was working at and bang on it and pick up the pieces? Not to mention that once, she actually pulled it 1/2 way off the table. Well, I definitely had my challenges in working on these puzzles, but I was on a mission and I was not going to be stopped.
Sunday night, I completed this puzzle. I''m sorry, what, did you just say.... there's a spot on the fireplace that doesn't look right. Yes, I completed both of the puzzles and there is 1 piece missing. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH Now, did the puzzle come this way or was it that cute little Doodlebug that kept visiting my work area?
Remember the theme of my puzzle story... a man murdered at a campsite on a property with Diamonds. Hmmm, I don't see anything here that remotely resembles a campsite and to me, this looks a litte more like Felines then Diamonds.
I finally bought a puzzle I have been wanting... I was able to complete it in one weekend without any help and now that it's completed, there's a piece missing and it's the wrong puzzle for my story. This just once again proves that I have absolutely positively no luck at all.
P.S. I did take a guess as to who the guilty party was from the story itself and when I checked the answer, I was right.
How I made him happy & They say it's your birthday...
Last week I mentioned that I was going to post how I made my DH happy one night. It actually ended up that he was a very happy man 2 nights in one week. (teh and ea, get your minds out of the gutter.) Well, my DH got an early birthday gift from me. (Really girls, out of the gutter this instant.) OK, now where was I??? Oh ya, I told DH that I had ordered him a gift and that it would probably be delivered early. Well, it did come early and several days later, the next installment came.
While I perfer electronic gadgets, jewelry and Coach purses, all it takes to make my husband a happy man is this...
Yes, I bought him a subscribtion to to Steelers Digest. It contains information on the players, their stats and interviews, This magazine has everything he would ever want to know about the Steelers. Apparently, a new issue is sent after every game. He is in football heaven.
As today is his birthday, he got to open his other presents tonight. Like a good PaPa, he shared the pleasure of unwrapping his gifts.
Looks like I know what to buy Doodlebug for christmas, forget the toys and just give her the boxes. LOL
Happy Birthday Honey!!!
P.S. Don't forget your
Smorgasbord Sunday recipes tomorrow ~ Something you will be making this week.
September 9th is a very special day...
Yes, Friday September 9th is a very special day for a wonderful little girl.
Lauren Miller is now officially 1 year old. YEAHHHHHHHHH Lauren!!!!
Make sure you stop by her blog and wish her an extra special Happy 1st Birthday.
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday dear Lauren,
Happy Birthday to you.
Stuff Portrait Friday - Football
Yes, it's that time of year again... pigskin and snacks. This can only mean that it's football season. Kristine over at
Random and Odd has dedicated this week's SPF theme to her beloved Shaun and therefore, has chosen the all american past time of football.
If you remember from
this , I am not a huge fan of football, but I do watch it. Really, in my house I have no choice.
The items are:
1. Your favorite 'team' paraphenalia. (shirts, hats, washing machines...whatever you have that shows off your favorite team)
2. This is a 'google hunt' picture. Go find a picture of your favorite player from your team and post it.
3. Dig through some old pictures and show me one of you at a tailgating party, block party, or Superbowl party. I know you've got to have something like that. Back up picture: Show me a picture of your kid in their sports jersey.
So, I'm playing... but I'm using DH's & the Teenager's team stuff cause I got nothin with regards to football.
Team Paraphenalia:
Here is DH's most treasured football item... a Terry Bradshaw autographed jersey from his days with the Pittsburg Steelers.
Then, we have all of this junk, err I mean collection. Yes, we have an autographed football, tennis ball, baseball and even a Harlem Globetrotter's basketball. In the midst of this collection are 3 non autographed items... Steeler Football. Apparently, their status is the same as that of any other time item that has been signed.
Google Hunt:
OK, here is a link to DH's current favorite player (his all time fav is Terry Bradshaw, but as he is retired, I made him choose again.)
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1152 This is the teenager's favorite player.
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/1109I don't have any pics from any superbowl or tailgate parties, so I'm going with the back up plan. Your kid in his/her favorite jersey.
My son isn't wearing a jersey in this photo, but he is wearing a t-shirt with a football and the #28 on it. Oh and he is standing with Marshall Faulk. Does this count?
Sorry I played so late, but time has been a flying and blogger has not been cooperating.
Tantrum Thursday #3
Thursdays are deemed as Tantrum Thursday by the one and only
Crayonz.
Yes, even the cutest most wonderful children in the world can have tantrum moments. So, here is this week's tantrum picture of the Doodlebug...
She is one seriously mad baby.
And the reason for this tantrum...
Yes, traffic jams will cause road rage even in the youngest of drivers.
Doodlebug playing
Doodlebug like all babies, loves playing and continually amuses herself as well as those around her.
ROCL - Rolling on the couch laughing
Who needs toys when EA's wallet is near by.
I kept telling her go for the cash and the plastic, but she couldn't find any. LOL
See my new lamb I got in Branson? Much better to play with than an old T-Shirt.
Apparently even she gets tired and must relax from time to time.
I'm thinking she may be watching her PaPa a little too much. LOL
The Friends and Family Plan
2 night hotel room in Branson $118.05
2 tickets to Dixie Stampede $91.70
Gas to make trip to Branson and back $106.92
A road trip with your sister, seeing your Aunt and old friend and meeting new blog friends... ABSOLUTELY TOTALLY PRICELESS
Yes, as you already know from
Easily Amused &
Crayonz's blogs, we had a fantastic time. I was able to visit with my Aunt whom I haven't seen in a very long time. I was also able to hook up with Marebear and see her. God I miss working with her everyday! (Marebear, please come back.) And to top it all off, EA and I got to meet two fabulous women... Crayonz and Joolee.
On the way to meet them I told EA that I was kinda afraid to meet as they may think that I am just a total loser and they may decide that they don't like me. It looks like my fears were totally groundless. We all got along fantastically. We hugged and talked as if we were old friends who have known each other for a long time.
Then, there was Baby Lauren. I didn't think it was possible, but she was even sweeter and more beautiful in person. She and Doodlebug were both troopers in allowing us to drag them around in their strollers while we gabbed and shopped, the poor things missed their naps for us to have our shopping adventure.
See this great little pink bag??? This was a gift from Crayonz full of great items that she picked just for me. She has definitely gotten a handle on what I like.
A princess night light... not to worry, I will put it in Doodlebug's room.
Is this the greatest container of bubbles you have ever seen or what??? Doodlebug and I will definitely have fun with these.
Boy did whe peg me on these socks... pink and with hearts. These are just way to cute for words.
and last, but certainly not least... a tooth fairy box that she made herself for our special little Doodlebug.
This was definitely a trip to remember. Hopefully I will get to meet more of my blog friends/family over time.
